Bees for Development’s New website www.beesfordevelopment.org Incorporating a brand new feature: The African Information Portal funded by the Wales for Africa Fund of the Welsh Assembly Government. Important partners donating additional funds are: The Rowse Family Trust and the Anglo American Group Foundation. The Web site consists of several thousand pages and is the largest bee-information website, and the only such site focussing specifically on the developing world - will be launched officially at the British Beekeepers Association (BBKA) Spring Convention: BBKA Spring Convention, Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire By: Bill Turnbull (BBC Breakfast) 12:00, Saturday 18 April 2009 William Graham AM, Commissioner for Assembly Resources, National Assembly of Wales: “We are helping people in Africa to help themselves. No project underlines this better than the work of the Monmouth-based charity Bees for Development”. As climate change becomes evident, efforts to improve agricultural sustainability become more important. This new web site will help more people in Africa to practise sustainable beekeeping. This helps to alleviate poverty and helps us all, by maintaining stocks of healthy bee populations.”
